30-Day Plant Guarantee

Tissue culture plants are young, and the first few weeks in a new home are the part that decides everything. We think that risk should sit with us, not with you. So if a plant you bought from us doesn’t pull through within 30 days of delivery, we replace it.

There is one thing we need you to do on day one. It takes ten seconds and it is the whole reason we can offer this — see What we need from you below.

How it works

Plants under $200

If it doesn’t make it within 30 days, we send you a replacement free.

You cover replacement shipping — a flat $14.99.

Plants $200 and over

We replace it at 50% of what you paid for the plant, within the same 30 days.

You cover replacement shipping — a flat $14.99.

One replacement per plant, in the same variety wherever we can. If that variety has sold out, we give you store credit for what you paid for the plant instead — it never expires.

What we need from you

1. A photo on the day it arrives

Before you do anything else, photograph your plant as it comes out of the box. One clear phone snap is enough.

This is the condition we cannot waive. It is the only way to tell a plant that arrived weak from one that arrived healthy and ran into trouble later — and it protects you as much as it protects us. If a plant turns up in poor shape, that photo is your evidence, not ours.

No arrival photo, no claim.

Then, if something goes wrong:

  • Get in touch within 30 days of the day your plant was delivered.
  • Send photos of the problem — one of the whole plant, one close up on what has gone wrong — alongside your arrival photo.
  • Have followed the Acclimation Guide. A tissue culture plantlet comes out of a sterile lab at near 100% humidity, and the guide is what bridges it to life in your home. Plants that skip that step rarely settle in, and that isn’t something a replacement fixes.

What’s not covered

  • Claims with no arrival photo.
  • Plants that were clearly neglected — left sitting in water, put in direct sun, or grown without the humidity setup the guide asks for.
  • Anything outside the 30-day window.

That’s the whole list. We’re not looking for reasons to say no — if you took your photo, followed the guide, and it still didn’t work out, that’s exactly what this is for.

How to claim

  1. Email info@agaplantz.com within 30 days of delivery, with your order number in the subject line.
  2. Attach your arrival photo and your photos of the problem.
  3. We reply within 24–48 hours. Once it’s approved you pay the $14.99 shipping (plus the 50% if the plant was $200 or over) and your replacement goes out with the next batch.

Questions

I didn’t photograph it when it arrived.

Then we can’t process a guarantee claim, and we’re sorry — it’s the one thing we can’t work around, because without it there is no way to know what condition the plant was in when it reached you. Take one the moment you open the box; a phone photo is fine. If your plant was delivered before this guarantee started, get in touch anyway and we’ll work with you.

Does this cover pre-orders?

Yes. The 30 days start the day your plant is delivered, not the day you order. A pre-order placed in September and delivered in November is covered right through December — and the arrival photo is due the day that parcel lands, not the day you ordered.

Does it cover both tissue culture and acclimated plants?

Yes — every plant we sell, at every stage.

What if the variety I bought is sold out?

You get store credit for what you paid for the plant, usable on anything in the shop. It doesn’t expire.

I ordered several plants and only one didn’t make it.

Claim that one. Each plant is covered on its own — so photograph them all on arrival, ideally in one shot with everything laid out. Shipping is charged per replacement parcel, not per plant, so if two need replacing at the same time it’s still $14.99.

Why do I pay shipping if the replacement is free?

Because shipping a live plant safely across Canada costs real money, and that $14.99 is what we hand to the carrier — it isn’t a fee. Everything else, the plant included, is on us.

What counts as “delivered”?

The date the carrier marks your parcel delivered. That’s the date the 30 days run from, and it’s on your tracking.

My plant arrived damaged. Is that this?

No — and the other route is better for you. If a plant arrives dead or badly damaged, contact us within 24 hours of delivery for a dead-on-arrival claim, which can end in a full refund with no shipping charge. Your arrival photo is exactly what that claim needs too. The 30-Day Plant Guarantee covers what happens after that, from day two to day 30.

Still unsure? Email info@agaplantz.com and ask — we would rather talk it through before you order than after.
